BOOKS FOR YOUNG'UNS!
Collegiate Peaks Anglers Chapter of Trout Unlimited donated 18 copies of the book, Trout Are Made of Trees, to area libraries and youth organizations from Leadville to Westcliffe.  The book is written by April Pulley Sayre and illustrated by Kate Endle for children 4-9.  It is the story of children studying a stream and about the river’s ecosystem.  It shows how the ecosystem works together for the benefit of the trout. From leaves falling from the trees to trout growing up in a stream, this book emphasizes the natural cycle of a trout.  The illustrations were painstakingly researched and the aquatic insects and their environment are true to life, right down to the gravel cases of the caddis fly larva.

Trout Unlimited hopes students will gain knowledge and appreciation of the natural resources surrounding our streams and is committed to the education of the next generation of conservationists.

After donating 18 copies of Trout Are Made of Trees to area schools and libraries, Collegiate Peaks Anglers has received several thank you notes for the books:

"Thank you for donating the wonderful children's book ... . I am sure it will be enjoyed, and no doubt well-used by our young readers."

"The book will be a fabulous addition to my science lessons.  The children love going to the fish hatchery, and now this book will help them better understand the life cycle of the trout."
